Saud’s territory ceased being a British Protectorate following the Treaty of Jeddah, which established Saud sovereignty over the Kingdom of Hejaz and Nejd and prevented Saud from attacking other British protectorates. Although Saud gained his independence, he remained allies with Great Britain.
